UAE Outpaces GCC States in Exports to Saudi Arabia

UAE exports to Saudi Arabia in June 2010 surpassed SR 1 billion while Saudi exports of national origin to the UAE were valued at SR961 million, according to official figures.

The Central Department of Statistics & Information said in a report that Saudi-made non-oil exports to member states of the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council rose SR20 million in June 2010 to about SR2 billion while its imports surged SR54 million from these countries to stand at SR 1.7 billion.

Kuwait took the second slot after the UAE exporting goods worth SR360 million to Saudi Arabia and importing goods worth SR115 million.

Total Saudi non-oil exports grew 22% in June to more than SR10 billion while imports dropped one per cent to SR29.1 billion.
