The Commissioner General of UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Filippo Grandi, has described the Ramadan programme by Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) in Palestine this year as one of the best relief programmes carried out by UNRWA in the Palestinian territories so far.

Filippo Grandi, after visiting one of the centres for food parcels distribution of KZHF in Bethlehem city, said in a statement that KZHF is a partner institution of the UNRWA for more than three years and it is a permanent financer of aid especially during the Holy month of Ramadan as well as many projects related to the UNRWA, like "School Adoption" in Gaza strip, which helps the world body in providing educational services in the area.

It is worth mentioning that KZHF, during this Ramadan, distributed 32 tonnes of meat to over 13,000 poor Palestinian families that included 75,000 individuals. The food parcels were distributed to 19 refugee camps in ten Palestinian governorates, which are: Jerusalem, Hebron, Nablus, Ramallah, Tulkarim, Jenin, Qalqilya, Tubas, Bethlehem and Salfit.

The UNRWA has also included in its programme the "Child's House", located in the city of Bethlehem, which has more than 400 children, whereas it provided with one hundred kilograms of meat per week to meet children's need. In addition to that, it has added a new service to the programme, which is providing 200 meals in each of the 19 distribution centres for elderly people.
