Executive Committee

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council, issued Resolution No. (53) of 2006 to form the Executive Committee, an affiliation to the Executive Council, specialized in the following:

  • Reviewing the issues submitted to the Executive Council, as well as analyzing their components, ensuring their data and documents completion, and making recommendations thereon.
  • Guiding subcommittees and government entities, as well as following up on their performance to improve the level of services provided in Abu Dhabi.
  • Reviewing and submitting Abu Dhabi's general budget to the Executive Council for approval purposes.
  • Providing an initial approval of the list of new capital projects for subsequent consideration by the Department of Finance, inclusion in the draft general budget, and submission for final approval purposes in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Deciding on the employees or boards of directors' allowances and rewards' requests, in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, and presenting the required cases to the Executive Council.
  • Reviewing financial performance reports in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Reviewing and examining Abu Dhabi's general policies and strategic plans, as well as ensuring their harmonization, coordination, and submission to the Executive Council for approval purposes.
  • Overseeing the development of the Abu Dhabi Plan, including objectives, programs, indicators and others.
  • Considering strategic challenges and risks.
  • Discussing the development of government administration, through the consideration of the government entities' financial policies, procurement, information technology, human resources, communication, statistics, and others.
  • Examining legislations submitted by the entities prior to presenting them to the Executive Council.
  • Look over and assessing the general government performance.
  • Perusing the recommendations of the subcommittees, submitted with respect to different sectors' business conduct, as well as determining the various roles of some entities, and taking the necessary decision in light of applicable legislation.
  • Proposing and submitting the criteria of the performance reports of subcommittees, and their members, to the Executive Council.
